Advanced Corsetry 

Essentials:

Two Day Course 9am - 5pm

Dates: 19th - 20th October

Cost: £250 (introductory rate) for the course, all materials included

Skill level required: Students should have attended the Moody Corsetry Beginners and Intermediate Corsetry course, or have relevant experience and be confident in producing multi layer corsets.

Location: Moody Corsetry Studio, Salfords, Surrey

Cupped Corsetry Master Class

Description:

On this course each student will focus on developing their understanding of cupped corsetry, covering pattern drafting, toile process, fitting, and assembly.

​

PLEASE NOTE: You will not be making a complete corset during this course but will leave the course with a fitted toile and pattern.

 

Skill areas covered:

Flat pattern drafting

Cup pattern development

Fitting techniques

Cradle Positioning

At the end of the course you will have a fitted toile and pattern for you to continue working on at home

 

All materials will be provided for this course and will be covered by your course fee.

Equipment:

You have the option to bring your own sewing machine or to borrow one of our collection of vintage sewing machines. These vintage machines are often used by corset makers for their strength and durability.

 

 

If you chose to bring your own machine please ensure you are familiar with it (can thread it, change a presser foot or needle etc), and please also bring with you spare needles to fit your machine.

 

 

All other equipment and materials will be provided.

Location:

The course will be held at Moody Corsetry Studio, a dedicated sewing space alongside the Moody family home. The studio is in Salfords, Surrey - a 2 minute walk from Salfords train station (just 40 minutes from London Bridge), and just 5 miles from Gatwick Airport. There is ample, free on-street parking.

 

Accessibility

The Studio itself is small (but perfectly formed) and up three steep steps. If you require a more accessible venue please pop me an email to discuss your requirements.

 

For any student wishing to attend from further afield we are within a short walk from the Premier Inn hotel at Mill House for overnight accommodation. For those looking for a more luxurious overnight stay we have Nutfield Priory Hotel and Spa a 15 minute drive away.

 

Tea, Coffee, soft drinks, and biscuits etc will be provided. We ask students to bring along a packed lunch.
